Cleavon Little was an American actor. His roles include the films Vanishing Point , Blazing Saddles , Greased Lightning , FM (1978), Scavenger Hunt , Toy Soldiers (1984), and Once Bitten , the series Temperatures Rising , Dear John , and True Colors , the mini-series Separate but Equal (1991), and many stage performances.

He was the son of De Etta Bowens Jones and Malachi Little. His sister was singer DeEtta Little West, who co-sang “Gonna Fly Now” from Rocky . Cleavon was partly raised in San Diego, California. He had a daughter, multi-media artist Adia Millett.

Cleavon’s paternal grandfather was named Jake Little/Littles/Littless.
