Coleen Gray was an American actress. She was known for her roles in the films Kiss of Death , Nightmare Alley (1947), Red River (1948), The Sleeping City , Apache Drums , Kansas City Confidential , The Vanquished , Arrow In the Dust , The Killing (1956), The Vampire (1957), Copper Sky , Johnny Rocco , The Leech Woman , The Phantom Planet , and Town Tamer , and on the show The Virginian .
She was the daughter of Anna and Arthur Ludwig Jensen. Her paternal grandparents and maternal grandfather were Danish. Her maternal grandmother was born in Germany. She was raised on a farm, largely in Hutchinson, Minnesota. Coleen was married to aviation executive William Clymer Bidlack, until his death, and then to Biblical scholar Joseph Fritz Zeiser, until his death. She had a daughter with her first husband, screenwriter Rod Amateau; and a son with William. She worked together for Presbyterian causes with Fritz.
