Carl was born in Denton, Texas, to Scottish parents, from Paisley, Renfrewshire. Peter was the son of Michael Storrie and Mary Crawford. Elizabeth was the daughter of Michael Todd, who was from Edinburgh; and of Elizabeth Lauchlan.
