Cristiano Ronaldo is a Portuguese professional footballer. A forward, he plays for, and captains, Saudi Professional League club Al Nassr, and the Portugal national team. He was previously with Sporting CP B, Sporting CP, Manchester United, Real Madrid, which he also captained; and Juventus. He has won five Ballon d’Or awards. He is the top goalscorer of all time, with over 950 official senior career goals for club and country. He is nicknamed “CR7.”
Cristiano is the son of Maria Dolores dos Santos Aveiro and José Dinis Aveiro. One of his great-grandmothers was from Cape Verde. Cristiano was named after U.S. President Ronald Reagan. His sister is singer Kátia Aveiro. Cristiano is Catholic.
He has had six children, including youth footballer Ronaldo, Jr., and three of them with his fiancée, Spanish-Argentinian model Georgina Rodríguez .
Cristiano’s paternal grandfather was Humberto de Aveiro (the son of José de Aveiro and Isabel Rosa da Piedade). Humberto was born in Madeira. José was the son of José de Aveiro and Maria de Jesus. Isabel was born on Praia, Cape Verde, and was listed as “preta”/black on her death record. She was the daughter of Rosa Maria dos Santos.
