Cybill Shepherd is an American actress, singer, and model. Her roles include The Last Picture Show , The Heartbreak Kid , At Long Last Love , Chances Are , Texasville , and the shows Moonlighting and Cybill , among other works.
Cybill is the daughter of Patty Cornelia and William Jennings “Bill” Shepherd, Jr., a salesman, who ran Bill Shepherd Enterprises, Inc. She has a daughter, actress Clementine Ford, with her former husband, nightclub entertainer David M. Ford; and two children with her former husband, chiropractor Bruce Oppenheim.
Cybill’s paternal grandfather was William Jennings Shepherd (the son of Peter Jennings Shepherd and Allie Torrence).
Cybill’s paternal grandmother was Esther Stimpson (the daughter of Thomas Hampton “Hamp” Stimpson and Martha Anne “Annie” Davis Stimpson). Thomas was born in Yadkin County, North Carolina, the son of Thomas Baxter Stimpson and Mary Wentworth Poindexter. Cybill’s great-grandmother Martha was born in Yadkin County, the daughter of Thomas Davis and Anna Malinda Speas.
Cybill’s maternal grandfather was Norvell Shapleigh “Cy” Shobe (the son of Cyrus Shobe and Clara Ellen Bizzell). Norvell was born in Morley, Scott County, Missouri, and was president and chairman of the board of Shobe, Inc. Cyrus was born in Bowling Green, Warren County, Kentucky, the son of James Barnett Shobe and FrancesAnn Elizabeth “Betty”/Bettie Sears. Cybill’s great-grandmother Clara was the daughter of William Bizzell and Harriett Ann Brock.
Cybill’s maternal grandmother was Gladys Elsie “Tommy” Toler (the daughter of William Thomas Toler and Etta W. Wesson). Gladys was born in Arkansas. William was the son of George T. Toler and Martha J. “Mattie” Wyatt. Cybill’s great-grandmother Etta possibly was the daughter of Tomie Wesson and Maudine Nicholson.
