Dakota Kai is a New Zealander professional wrestler. She is known for her work in WWE’s Raw, Smackdown, and NXT brands, and has worked for other wrestling promotions worldwide. She has also been known as Evie.

Dakota is the daughter of Alailevao and Earl David Crowley. Her father was born in New Zealand, and all of Dakota’s paternal great-great-grandparents emigrated there from Ireland. Her mother is Samoan, from Lepea, on the island of Upolu. She is the sister of Nyrene, a mixed martial artist, and Earl, a DJ.

Dakota’s paternal grandfather was Pat/Patrick Crowley (Patrick Joseph Bourke Crowley, the son of Jeremiah Daniel Crowley and Margaret Ellen Powell). Pat was born in Whanganui, New Zealand, and was a rugby union player, who was a member of the New Zealand national rugby team the All Blacks. Jeremiah was the son of Daniel Crowley and Hannah Burke, who were from County Cork, Ireland. Margaret was the daughter of Irish parents, George Powell and Mary Anne Mahony.

Dakota’s paternal grandmother was Joan Patricia Nash (the daughter of Martin James “Jim” Nash and Mary Elizabeth O’Sullivan). Martin was born in Mangawhai, Kaipara, Northland, the son of Irish parents, Martin James Nash, who was from County Clare, and Bridget Frances Duggan, who was from County Galway. Mary Elizabeth was the daughter of John Sullivan and Mary.

Dakota’s maternal grandfather’s surname was Magalogo.
