Dan Auerbach is an American musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer. He is the singer and guitarist of blues rock band The Black Keys.
Dan is the son of Mary Little, a teacher of French, and Charles Auerbach, an antiques dealer. His father was Jewish, of Polish Jewish descent.
Dan has one child with his former wife Stephanie Gonis, and one child with his former wife Jen Goodall.
Dan’s maternal grandfather was John Robert Quine (the son of Harry Sanford Quine and Sarah Jahant). John was born in Ohio. Harry was the son of Robert Stanford Quine, who was born on Andreas, Isle of Man, and of Katherine “Kate” Motz, who was born in Germany. Sarah was the daughter of August/Augustus Jahant, who was born in Akron, Ohio, to French parents, and of Mary McCartin/McCarten, who was born in Ontario, Canada, to Irish parents, Charles McCarten and Sarah Duffin.
Dan’s maternal grandmother was Jane L. Little (the daughter of Henry Wirt Little and Eliza Catherine Belvin). Jane was born in Georgia, and was of English, and some French and Scots-Irish/Northern Irish, descent. Henry was the son of James Franklin Little and Martha/Mattie Jane Seal. Eliza was the daughter of James Peter Coladen Belvin and Mary Elizabeth Walton; they both had English ancestry, and James also had French roots.
