Dan Castellaneta is an American actor, voice actor, comedian, producer, and screenwriter. He voices Homer Simpson, along with many other characters, on the series The Simpsons .
Dan is the son of Elsie (Lagorio) and Luigi/Louis Greco Castellaneta. He was raised in River Forest and Oak Park, Illinois. Dan is married to television writer and actress Deb Lacusta.
Dan’s paternal grandfather was Vincenzo Greco Castellaneta (the son of Giuseppe Castellaneta and Maria Ruscigno). Vincenzo was born in Bari, Apulia, Italy. Giuseppe was the son of Domenico Castellaneta and Rosalba di Napoli. Maria was the daughter of Vincenzo Ruscigno and Maria Isabella Lombardo.
Dan’s paternal grandmother was Carmela Conforti (the daughter of Giuseppe Conforti and Raffaella Aiella). Carmela was born in Illinois, to Italian parents, from Castrolibero, Cosenza, Calabria. Raffaella was the daughter of Antonio Rosario Aiello and Rachele Costabile.
Dan’s maternal grandfather was Charles Lagorio (the son of Luigi Lagorio and Maria Delucci). Charles was born in Genoa, Liguria, Italy. Luigi was the son of Giovanni Martino Lagorio and Luigia Zenoglio. Maria was the daughter of Bartolomeo Delucchi and Caterina Pezzi.
Dan’s maternal grandmother was Lina F. “Lizzie” Garbarino (the daughter of Carlo Garbarino and Rose/Rosa Lagomarsino). Lina was born in California, to Italian parents, likely from Liguria.
Dan is a sixth cousin of actor David Costabile . Dan’s paternal great-great-great-great-great-grandparents, Gennaro Costabile and Chiara Parise, were also David’s paternal five times great-grandparents.
