Dan O’Herlihy was an Irish-American actor. He is known for playing Conal Cochran in Halloween III: Season of the Witch , and for his roles in the films Larceny , Macbeth , Kidnapped (1948), The Iroquois Trail , Soldiers Three , The Highwayman (1951), The Blue Veil , At Sword’s Point , Actor’s and Sin , Operation Secret , Invasion, U.S.A. His brother was television producer and director Michael O’Herlihy. His family moved to Dublin when he was a child. Dan was married to Elsie Bennett, until his death, with whom he had five children, including actor Gavan O’Herlihy and architect Lorcan O’Herlihy. His granddaughter is multimedia artist Micaela O’Herlihy. He became a U.S. citizen in 1983.
