Dan Povenmire is an American animator, voice actor, writer, director, and producer. He has voiced character Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz across many media platforms. He has co-created, and been a voice actor for, animated series Phineas and Ferb , which he was also a showrunner for; Take Two with Phineas and Ferb , and Milo Murphy’s Law . He was a director and writer for the first and third show. He also created the show Hamster & Gretel , which he also directed episodes of. He has also directed episodes of Hey Arnold! and Family Guy ; been a writer for The Angry Beavers , CatDog , and SpongeBob SquarePants ; and wrote a song for Big City Greens . He also worked in other capacities on the preceeding shows, and on The Simpsons . He co-wrote the film Psycho Cop 2 , co-directed and co-wrote the made-for-tv movie Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension , and co-wrote the made-for-tv movie Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Candace Against the Universe .
Dan was raised in Mobile, Alabama. He has two children, voice actress Meli Povenmire and singer Alex Povenmire, with his wife Clarissa McPeck Rincón.
Dan’s paternal grandfather was Edward Kingsley Povenmire (the son of Samuel Daniel Povenmire and Bertha Deffenbaugh/Defenbaugh). Edward was born in Ohio. Samuel was born in Ohio, the son of Mahlon Povenmire and Josephine Viola Garling. Bertha was born in Illinois, the daughter of Andrew J. Deffenbaugh/Defenbaugh and Jane Amanda Reigle.
Dan’s paternal grandmother was Goldie Lee Stewart (the daughter of Charles Cleveland Stewart and Rosella “Ella” Tucker). Goldie was born in Ohio. Charles was born in Kentucky, the son of Charles B. Stewart and Margaret Lee Chaffin. Rosella was born in Ohio.
Dan’s maternal grandfather was Clarence Andrew Dye (the son of John Wesley Dye and Mary Jane Postlewait). Clarence was born in West Virginia. John was born in West Virginia, the son of John Wesley Dye and Anna Victoria Buckley. Mary Jane was born in West Virginia, the daughter of Thomas Jefferson Postlewait and Dora Virginia Hoce.
Dan’s maternal grandmother was Frances Emeline McWorther (the daughter of Eustace Lee McWorther and Nellie Goff Harden). Frances was born in West Virginia. Eustace was born in West Virginia, the son of William Levi McWorther and Sigournia Elizabeth Rebecca Moneypenny.
