Dan Wilson is an American musician, singer, songwriter, visual artist, and record producer. He is the frontman of rock band Semisonic. He was a member of rock band Trip Shakespeare, of which his brother, singer and songwriter Matt Wilson , was also a member.
Dan is married to Diane Espaldon, with whom he has two children.
Dan’s paternal grandfather was Ivan Edward Wilson (the son of Edgar Oslander/Osiander/Oceander Wilson and Nellie Marion Ottman). Ivan was born in Kasson, Dodge, Minnesota. Edgar was the son of Edward Wilson, who was born in Holum Farm, Flaamsdalen, Aurland, Sogn, Norway, and of Anna Otterness, who was born in Wisconsin, to Norwegian parents, with her father having from Fretheim Farm, Flaamsdalen, Aurland, Sogn.
