She was raised in southwest Atlanta, the daughter of Carolyn Gordon, a legal secretary, and Rickey Lee Deadwyler, a railroad supervisor. She has a son.
Danielle’s paternal grandfather was Imel Deadwyler (the son of Roy Lee Hall and Hattie Mae Deadwyler). Imel was born in Clark County, Georgia. Roy was born in Georgia, the son of Roger Lowe and Mattie Lou Hall. Hattie was born in Georgia, the daughter of George Deadwyler and Mary Willie Glenn. George was the son of Gaines Deadwyler, who was born, c. 1840, in Georgia.
Danielle’s paternal grandmother was named Bessie Lee Adams. Bessie’s grandfather was named L. Stanley.
