Daron Nefcy is an American animator, cartoonist, storyboard artist, writer, producer, and voice actress. She is the creator of Disney XD and Disney Channel series Star vs. the Forces of Evil . She has also provided voice roles, most notably StarFan13. She is the second woman to create an original Disney Television Animation series, and the first since 1997’s Pepper Ann , from Sue Rose.
Her father was cinematographer Jay Nefcy.
Daron’s paternal grandfather was Girard William Nefcy (the son of Jacob Joseph Nefcy and Mabel Jane Sutton). Girard was born in Driftwood, Cameron, Pennsylvania. Jacob was born on in Driftwood, the son of Bernard Nefcy, who was born in Kingston, Frontenac, Ontario, Canada, to parents from Mayo, Ireland; and of Elizabeth Smith. Daron’s great-grandmother Mabel was born in Lapeer Township, Lapeer, Michigan, the daughter of William B. Sutton and Eva Kate Clark, whose father was from Nottinghamshire, England.
Daron’s paternal grandmother was Therese Mary McGee (the daughter of Michael Thomas McGee and Anna Teressa Dillon). Therese was born in Lincoln Park, Wayne, Michigan, to Canadian parents, from Ontario. Michael was born in Cobden, Whitewater Region, Renfrew, the son of John McGee and Winifred Ann Reynolds, who were the children of Irish parents. Daron’s great-grandmother Anna was born in Admaston, Renfrew, the daughter of Thomas Dillon, whose parents were from County Limerick, Ireland; and of Margaret Gorman, whose parents were also Irish, with roots in County Clare and County Kerry.
Daron’s maternal grandfather was Jack Earl Dodson (the son of Jessie Ray Dodson and Coralyn Marcelle Roath). Jack was born in Missouri. Jessie was born in Henry, Missouri, the son of Benjamin Franklin Dodson and Maggie Lou Sanders. Daron’s great-grandmother Coralyn was born in Pennsylvania, the daughter of Horace Corydon Roath, whose maternal grandfather was Canadian; and of Mary Isabell “Ella” Hunt.
Daron’s maternal grandmother was Betty Elaine Wicklein (the daughter of Fredrick/Fred Herman Wicklein and Madeline Brown). Betty was born in Mexico, Audrain, Missouri. Frederick was born in Montgomery, Missouri, the son of Herman Henry Wicklein, whose parents were German, his father from Gessendorf, Sachsen-Meiningen; and of Bertha Louise Caroline Wilhelmine Nagel, whose parents were also German, her mother rom Holstein. Daron’s great-grandmother Madeline was born in Missouri, the daughter of Lemuel James Brown and Ida Lee Sailor.
