Dave Bickler is an American singer. He was the original lead singer of rock band Survivor.
He was raised partly in Willmar, Minnesota and Lisle, Illinois.
Dave’s paternal grandfather was John Joseph Bickler/Bichler (the son of Joseph Bichler and Ana Marie Burgard). John was born in Altai Mountains, Russia, to ethnic German parents, from Odessa. Dave’s great-grandfather Joseph was the son of Johannes Biegler and Marianna Hoffart, who were from Mannheim, Odessa. Ana was the daughter of Kaspar Burgard, who was from Strassburg, Odessa; and of Magdalena Senger.
Dave’s paternal grandmother was Philapina Horner (the daughter of Anton Horner and Phillipina Bosch). Philapina’s parents were ethnic Germans, from Crimea. Anton was born in Rosental, the son of Peter Horner and Marianna Kuhn. Phillipina was the daughter of Adam Bosch, whose parents were from Baden, Germany; and of Katharina Schmidt, who was born in Klöstitz, Akkerman, Bessarabia, also to German parents.
Dave’s maternal grandfather was Julius Edwin Herman Meyer (the son of Julius Mayer and Katharina Spitzer). Edwin was born in Baldwin, North Dakota. Dave’s great-grandfather Julius was German, from Featow, the son of Jacob Meyer and Wilhelmina Noyer. Katharina was an ethnic German, from Russia.
Dave’s maternal grandmother was Wilma Leona Graham (the daughter of John Harvey Graham and Ethel Louise Webber). Wilma was born in North Dakota, and had Swiss-German, German, English, and Scottish ancestry, with deep roots in the U.S. John was the son of Corporal John William Graham, whose father was Scottish, and of Ruth Waldron, whose mother was English. Dave’s great-grandmother Ethel was the daughter of George W. Webber, who was of German descent, and whose mother was born in Preston, Cambridge, Waterloo, Ontario, Canada; and of Ella Maria Penfield.
