Dave Cowens is an American professional basketball player and coach. A center and power forward, he played for the Boston Celtics and the Milwaukee Bucks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He coached the Boston Celtics, the Bay State Bombardiers, the San Sntonio Spurs, as an assistant; the Charlotte Hornets, the Golden State Warriors, the Chicago Sky, and the Detroit Pistons, as an assistant. He is 6’9″.
Dave is the son of Ruth Ellen and John Joseph “Jack” Cowens. He is married to Deby, with whom he has two children.
Dave’s paternal grandfather was Albert August Cowens (the son of Joseph Robert Cowens and Magdalena Scheland). Albert was born in Bellevue, Campbell County, Kentucky.
