David Conrad is an American actor. He starred on the show Ghost Whisperer . His roles also include the series Relativity , Roswell , Boston Public , Miss Match , The Firm , and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. ; the films Return to Paradise , Men of Honor , Anything Else , Wedding Crashers , Crazy (2007), Follow the Prophet , and About Sunny ; and the made-for-tv movies Snow White: A Tale of Terror and A Season for Miracles .
David is the son of Margaret, a librarian, and James Conrad, an engineer. His great-grandfather was electrical engineer Frank Conrad, who was a developer of the radio and a pioneer broadcaster. David was raised on the border of Edgewood, a suburb of Pittsburgh.
David’s paternal grandfather was Crawford Joseph Conrad (the son of Henry Francis “Frank” Conrad and Flora Elizabeth Selheimer). Crawford was born in Swissvale, Allegheny, Pennsylvania. Frank was born in Pittsburgh, Allegheny, the son of Herbert Michael Conrad and Julia Margaret O’Connell, whose own parents were Irish, with roots in Kilkenny. David’s great-grandmother Flora was born in Wilkinsburg, Allegheny, the daughter of Absalom Brockey Selheimer and Elizabeth Jane Fitzgibbon, who was born in County Limerick, Ireland.
David’s paternal grandmother was Frances Margaret Watson (the daughter of James Cameron Watson and Stella Pearl Campbell). Frances was born in Sewickley, Allegheny, Pennsylvania. James was born in Allegheny City, Pittsburgh, Allegheny, the son of Francis Corry Watson, who was born in Carryduff, County Down, Ireland; and of Margaret G. Cameron, who was born in Houston and Killellan, Renfrewshire, Scotland. David’s great-grandmother Stella was born in Pennsylvania, the daughter of James G. Campbell and Frances Burke.
David’s maternal grandfather was Theron Ball Clement (the son of Maj. General Charles Maxwell Clement and Alice Virginia Withington). Theron was born in Pennsylvania, to parents who were also born in the state. He was the brother of Martin Withington Clement, president of the Pennsylvania, Railroad, from 1935 to 1948. David’s great-grandfather Charles was the son of John Kay Clement and Mary Susanna Ziegler. He was an attorney and Army National Guard officer, who was commander of the 28th Infantry Division. David’s great-grandmother Alice was the daughter of Martin John D. Withington and Elizabeth Gaskins Forsyth.
David’s maternal grandmother was Donna Otey Berry (the daughter of Philip Taylor Berry and Katherine H. Compton). Donna was born in Washington, D.C., as were her parents. Philip was the son of Philip Taylor Berry and Sarah McKennery. Katherine was the daughter of Robert King Compton and Donna Eliza Ripley Otey.
