David Silva is a Spanish professional footballer. A midfielder, he played for Valencia B, Valencia, Eibar, Celta, Manchester City, and Real Sociedad, and the Spain national team. He is nicknamed “Chino,” Spanish for “Chinese,” as well as “Merlin” and “El Mago.”
David is the son of Eva Silva and Fernando Jiménez, a municipal police officer, who later was made responsible for the safety of the Valencia CF stadium. David is a devout Catholic. He has a son.
David’s maternal grandfather was from South Korea or Japan, and settled on the Canary Islands.
