Dean Barrow is a Belizean politician. He served as Prime Minister of Belize , from 8 February, 2008 to 12 November, 2020. He has also been Leader of the Opposition, from 30 August, 1998 to 8 February, 2008; as well as, a Member of the Belize House of Representatives for Queen’s Square, from 14 December, 1984 to 12 November, 2020.
Dean is the son of Joyce Erica (Lindo) and Arthur Innes Barrow. He is married to activist and philanthropist Kim Simplis Barrow. He has four children. They include rapper and politician Shyne (Jamal Michael Myvette/Barrow), with Frances Imeon Myvette; and a daughter with Kim. Frances is the sister of Belize politician Michael Finnegan. Shyne has been Leader of the Opposition, from June 25, 2021 to September 16, 2021, and again, from February 1, 2022 to March 14, 2025.
Dean’s paternal grandfather was named Ebenezer Oliver Buntin Barrow.
