Devon Werkheiser is an American actor, singer, songwriter, and musician. He starred as Ned Bigby on the series Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide . His roles also include the films We Were Soldiers , The Prankster , Marmaduke (2010), Beneath the Darkness , The Wicked (2013), California Scheming , Helicopter Mom , Sundown (2016), Where’s the Money , Break Night , Crown Vic , and Rust (2024); the made-for-tv movies Recipe for Disaster , Casper’s Scare School , Shredderman Rules , Christmas in Paradise , Zephyr Springs , and Bad Sister ; and the series Greek , Never Fade Away , Rough Draft , and Artificial . He is also known as Good/Vlly.
He was raised in Johns Creek, Georgia.
Devon’s patrilineal line can be traced to Carl Hennrich Werckhausser, who was born, c. 1700, in Kairsersllautern, Stadt Kaiserslautern, Germany.
Devon’s paternal grandfather was Larry K. Werkheiser (the son of Lundy Kester Werkheiser and Beatrice Irene Miller). Larry was born in Pennsylvania. Lundy was the son of Frank Frint Werkheiser and Anna Maria Kester.
Devon’s paternal grandmother was Jeanette Edith Gilotti (the daughter of Alexander Morris Gilotti and Alverta Zimmerman). Jeanette was born in Pennsylvania. Alexander was born in Pennsylvania, to Italian parents, Vincenzo Pasquale “Charles” Gilotti/Gigliotti and Anna Moratelli, who were from Caccuri, Calabria, and Trento, then under Austria, respectively. Alverta was the daughter of David Zimmerman and Rachel.
