Dick Stanfel was an American professional football player, and coach. A guard, he played for the Detroit Lions and the Washington Redskins of the National Football League (NFL). He was a line coach for Notre Dame, an offensive line coach for California, the Philadelphia Eagles, the San Francisco 49ers, the New Orleans Saints, for whom he was also simultaneously an interim head coach for a time; and the Chicago Bears, and an offensive coordinator for the San Francisco 49ers. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame as a player in 2016.
