Earl Campbell is an American professional football player. A running back, he played for the Houston Oilers and the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League (NFL). He is highly regarded as one of the greatest running backs of all time, and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame as a player in 1991. He is nicknamed “the Tyler Rose.”
Earl is the son of Ann Collins and C. Bert Campbell. He is married to Reuna Smith, with whom he has two children, including Tyler, who played college football. Earl founded Earl Campbell Meat Products, Inc.
