Echosmith is an American indie pop band. They formed in February 2009 in Chino, Los Angeles, California. The band has been composed of siblings, Noah, on bass, lead and backing vocals, synthesizer, and programming; Sydney, on lead and backing vocals, rhythm guitar, piano, and keyboards; Graham, on drums and percussion; and, previously, Jamie Sierota, on lead guitar, keyboards, synthesizer, programming, and lead and backing vocals. They are known for their song “Cool Kids.” They were originally named Ready Set Go!
The siblings were raised Christian. Their father is a worship leader.
Echosmith’s paternal grandfather was Harold N. Sierota (the son of Szymek/Semion “Simon” Sierota/Sirota and Rosemaryn “Goldie”/Golda Szajna). Harold was born in Colorado, to Polish Jewish parents, from Ostrów, Masovia.
Echosmith’s paternal grandmother was named Janice Carole “Jan” Clark.

Echosmith’s maternal grandfather was Joseph Charles Hassey (the son of Joseph Charles Pershing Hassey and Thelma Rose Joyes). Echosmith’s grandfather Joseph was from New York. Echosmith’s great-grandfather Joseph was born in Buffalo, Erie, New York, the son of George Brenton Hassey, whose grandparents were all Irish; and of Mary Barbara Ringleb, whose parents were German, with at least partial roots in Prussia. Echosmith’s great-grandmother Thelma was born in Buffalo, the daughter of Arnold Fredrick Joyes, who was born in Huntsville, Muskoka, Ontario, Canada, of English, Scottish, and Irish descent; and of Lillian/Lillie/Lily Rose Partington, whose paternal grandparents were from Lancashire, England, and whose mother was of German descent.
Echosmith’s maternal grandmother was Peggy Stern (the daughter of Paul Hertzler Stern and Grace Irene Lloyd). Peggy was from Pennsylvania.
