Ed Kowalczyk is an American singer, songwriter, and musician. He was the lead vocalist and guitar player for, and a founding member of, rock band Live. Their songs include “Operation Spirit (The Tyranny of Tradition)” and “Dolphin’s Cry.”
He is the son of Mary and Edward Kowalcyzk. He is the brother of musician Adam Kowalczyk . Ed is married to Erin Broderick.
Ed’s paternal grandfather was named Joseph W. Kowalczyk.
Ed’s paternal grandmother was Stanislawa Marcyana Malecki (the daughter of Bronislaw Malecki and Marcianna Dombrowski). Stanislawa’s parents were Polish.
Ed’s maternal grandfather was Woodrow Wilson Weigel (the son of Lewis M. Weigel and Katie Hershey). Woodrow was of German descent. Lewis was the son of William H. Weigel and Harriet Melhorn. Katie was the daughter of Jacob H. Hersey and Lydia Stauffer.
