Ed O’Neill is an American actor and comedian. He is the star of the television series Married… with Children and Modern Family . A defensive lineman, he played college football for Ohio and Youngstown State, and was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers of the National Football League (NFL).
Ed is the son of Ruth Ann and Edward Phillip O’Neill, who worked at a steel mill, and was also a landscaper. His parents were of Irish Catholic background. Ed is married to actress Catherine Rusoff , with whom he has two children.
