Ed Warren was an American paranormal investigator, author, lecturer, and artist. Along with his wife, Lorraine Warren , he investigated reported hauntings and possessions; said to have been over 10,000 cases. He was a self-described and self-taught demonologist. With Lorraine, he founded the New England Society for Psychic Research (NESPR) in 1952. He is most prominently portrayed by Patrick Wilson in The Conjuring franchise.
He was the son of Pauline (Dennis) and Frank Edward Miney. His father was born in Bridgeport, to Slovak parents. His mother was also born in Connecticut, to Polish parents. Ed and Lorraine had a daughter. He was a Roman Catholic.
