Eddie Collins was an American professional baseball player, manager, and executive. A second baseman, he played for the Philadelphia Athletics and the Chicago White Sox of Major League Baseball (MLB). He also managed the Chicago White Sox. He was nicknamed “Cocky.”

Eddie was the son of Mary/Mart Mead (Trowbridge) and John Rossman Collins. His son was professional baseball player Eddie Collins, Jr.

Eddie’s maternal grandfather was Perry Clark Trowbridge (the son of Alexander Walstein Trowbridge and Sarah Clark). Alexander was the son of Stephen Trowbridge and Elizabeth Barnum. Sarah was the daughter of Douglass/Douglas Clark and Sarah/Sally Collin.
