Eddie Jones is an Australian rugby union coach and player. A hooker, he played for Randwick and Leicester Tigers, and for New South Wales. He coaches the Japan national team. He was previously assistant coach for Randwick, Tokai University, Japan, and Suntory Sungoliath; coach for ACT Brumbies, the Australia national team, Queensland Reds, Suntory Sungoliath, Stormers, the England national team, and the Australia national team; and technical advisor for Saracens and South Africa.

Eddie’s father was an Australian soldier who had met Eddie’s Japanese mother, Nellie, who was then an army interpreter, while on duty in Tokyo in the late 1940s. Eddie is married to Hiroko Jones, a Japanese woman, with whom he has a daughter. Eddie speaks Japanese.
