Eduardo Camavinga is an Angolan-born French professional footballer. A midfielder and left-back, he plays for Real Madrid, and the France national team. He was previously with Rennes II and Rennes.
Eduardo was born in Cabinda, an Angolan enclave between the Republic of the Congo and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, in a refugee camp. He is the son of Sofia Simão and Celestino Camavinga, who were refugees from Congo-Brazzaville. His father has also been described as “Angolan-Congolese.” His family moved to France when he was two years old, and he grew up in Fougères, Brittany. Eduardo obtained French nationality in 2019.
