Erik Karlsson is a Swedish professional ice hockey player. A defenceman, he plays for the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League (NHL); and was with the Sweden national team. He was previously with Frölunda HC of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL), the Ottawa Senators, Jokerit of Mestis, and the San Jose Sharks.
He is married to Melinda Currey, with whom he has had three children.
