Evgeni Malkin is a Russian professional ice hockey player. A centre, he plays for, and is alternate captain of, the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League (NHL); he has also played with and captained the Russian national team. He was previously with Metallurg Magnitogorsk of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). He is nicknamed “Geno.” He is 6′5″.
Evgeni is the son of Natalia and Vladimir Malkin, who worked for the Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works, and also played hockey. He is married to television personality Anna Kasterova, with whom he has a son.
Evgeni’s paternal grandfather is named Anatoliy Malkin.
