Fat Joe is an American rapper, actor, and host. He was a member of hip-hop collectives Diggin’ in the Crates Crew/D.I.T.C. and Terror Squad, the latter of which also included DJ Khaled and Big Pun . He has appeared in the films Urban Menace , Thicker than Water (1999), Prison Song , Empire (2002), Scary Movie 3 , Happy Feet , Supermodel , Night School (2018), Fearless (2020), and This Is Me… Now: A Love Story ; on the series She’s Gotta Have It ; and in the video games Def Jam Fight For NY , Def Jam Fight for NY: The Takeover , and Def Jam: Icon . He has hosted the BET Hip Hop Awards and Fat Joe Talks .
Fat Joe is the son of Maria/Marie del Carmen Cartagena and Ernesto Delgado. His father was Cuban. His mother was born in The Bronx, to Puerto Rican parents, from Puerto de Tierra, Viejo San Juan. He is of Puerto Rican and Cuban descent. Puerto Ricans can have a diverse heritage, including Spanish, Taíno Indian, African, Asian, and a combination of these and others.
Fat Joe is married to Lorena Rios, and has three children.
