He is the son of English journalist Georgina Henry, of The Guardian, and Irish novelist and screenwriter Ronan Bennett. His father was born in Belfast and raised in Newtownabbey, in Northern Ireland. His mother was born in Aden, Aden Protectorate, now Yemen, where her father was a British army officer.
Finn’s paternal grandfather was named William H. Bennett.
Finn’s paternal grandmother was named Geraldine.
Finn’s maternal grandfather was Michael William “Mike” Henry (the son of Thomas Richard Henry and Dora Dalton). Michael likely was born in Bengal, India. He became a full colonel.
