Fionnula Flanagan is an Irish actress. Fionnula is the daughter of Rosanna (McGuirk) and Terence Niall Flanagan, who was an Irish Army officer. Her father was a Communist, and fought in the International Brigades in the Spanish Civil War. She was raised speaking Gaelic and English. She was also educated in Switzerland and England. Fionnula was married to Irish nationalist Garrett O’Connor, until his death.
