Franck Ribéry is a French professional footballer. A winger, he played for Boulogne, Alès, Brest, Metz, Galatasaray, Marseille, Bayern Munich, Fiorentina, and Salernitana, and the France national team.
Franck is the son of Marie-Pierre and Francois Ribéry. His brothers, François Ribéry and Steeven Ribéry, are also footballers. Franck is married to Wahiba, with whom he has five children. Wahiba is of Algerian descent. Franck has converted to Islam, and changed his name to Bilal Yusuf Mohammed.
Franck is sometimes said to be descended from Zhu Yuanzhang, a Chinese emperor who was the first emperor of the Ming Dynasty. Apparently, the People’s Daily in China has reported that Franck’s cousin discovered this ancestry, although it is not totally clear if this is accurate.
