Frank Gatski was an American professional football player. A center, he played mostly for the Cleveland Browns, and the Detroit Lions, of the National Football League (NFL). He was also a scout, and head football coach and athletic director at the West Virginia Industrial School for Boys. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame as a player in 1985. He was nicknamed “Gunner.” He is 6′3″.
Frank was the son of Jadwiga “Etta” and Ludwik “Louie” Gatski/Gacki. Most of the men in his family worked in the Number Nine Coal Mine Camp. He was married, and had seven children.
Frank’s paternal grandfather was named Julius/Julias Gatskie/Gacki.
Frank’s maternal grandfather was named Julian Pietrowski.
