Gary Carter was an American professional baseball player. A catcher, he played for the Montreal Expos, the New York Mets, the San Francisco Giants, and the Los Angeles Dodgers of Major League Baseball (MLB). He was nicknamed “the Kid.”
Gary was the son of Inge Charolette (Keller) and James Haggard Carter. His maternal grandparents were German immigrants, who moved to Chicago, Illinois. He was married to Sandy, with whom he had three children.
Gary’s paternal grandfather was Truman Clark Carter (the son of Clark Cummin Carter and Lilie Loullia Haggard).
