His sister, Ashlyn Casalegno, is also an actress. He attended high school in Lucas, Texas. Gavin is married to Cheyanne King. He is a Christian.

Gavin’s paternal grandmother is Donna Mae Cale (the daughter of Donald Gene Cale and Edna Mae Wenger). Donald was born in Gillette, Campbell County, Wyoming, the son of George Henry Cale and Pearl Bell Riggle. Edna was born in Wyoming, the daughter of Samuel Shearer Wenger and Monnie Belle Ash.
