Gene Barry was an American actor. His roles included the films The Atomic City , The War of The Worlds (1953), Soldier of Fortune , The Purple Mask , The Houston Story , and Hong Kong Confidential , and the series Bat Masterson and Burke’s Law .
He was the son of Eva (Conn) and Hyman Martin Klass. His father was a Russian Jewish/Lithuanian Jewish emigrant, from Kovno. His mother was born in Pennsylvania, to Russian Jewish/Polish Jewish parents. He was married to Betty Claire Kalb, until her death, with whom he had three children.
