Georginio Wijnaldum, full name Georginio Gregion Emile Wijnaldum, is a Dutch professional footballer. A midfielder, he plays for, and captains, Al-Ettifaq. He was previously with Feyenoord, PSV, Newcastle United, Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain, and Roma, and the Netherlands national team.
His parents are of Surinamese origin. His brother, Giliano Wijnaldum, and half-brother, Rajiv van La Parra, are also professional footballers. Once known as Georginio Boateng, he took his mother’s name Wijnaldum after his parents’ divorce.
