Gerry Rafferty was a Scottish rock singer, songwriter, musician, and producer. He was known both as a solo artist and as the co-vocalist and guitarist of rock band Stealers Wheel. He was also a member of folk band The Humblebums, with Billy Connolly and Tam Harvey.
Gerry was the son of Mary (Skeffington) and Joseph Rafferty, a coal miner. His father was Irish and his mother was Scottish. He was married to Carla Ventilla, with whom he had a daughter.
