Giovanni van Bronckhorst, full name Giovanni Christiaan van Bronckhorst, is a Dutch professional footballer, and manager. A left-back and defensive midfielder, he played for Feyenoord, RKC Waalwijk, Rangers, Arsenal, and Barcelona, and the Dutch national team. He is assistant manager for Liverpool. He was previously assistant manager, and manager, for Feyenoord, and manager for Guangzhou R&F, Rangers, and Beşiktaş.
He is the son of Fransien Sapulette, who is Indonesian (Moluccan), and a Dutch father. His stepfather is Victor van Bronckhorst, who is of Indonesian and Dutch descent. Giovanni is married to Marieke, with whom he has two children.
