Graham Greene was a Canadian actor, recording artist, and sound engineer. His roles included the films Running Brave , Revolution (1985), Dances with Wolves , for which he was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor; Thunderheart , Maverick , North (1994), Die Hard with a Vengeance , The Education of Little Tree , Grey Owl , The Green Mile , Lost and Delirious , Christmas in the Clouds , Snow Dogs , Skins (2002), Phil the Alien , Transamerica , Breakfast with Scot , The Twilight Saga: New Moon , Casino Jack , Chasing Shakespeare , Winter’s Tale , Corner Gas: The Movie (2014), Wind River , The Shack (2017), Molly’s Game , Through Black Spruce , The Wolf and the Lion , Antlers , Squealer , The Great Salish Heist , and Sweet Summer Pow Wow ; the series The Adventures of Dudley the Dragon , in voice performance; The Red Green Show , Wolf Lake , Defiance , Longmire , Goliath , and Echo ; the made-for-tv movies Buffalo Dreams and Spirit Bear: The Simon Jackson Story ; and many works on stage. He was born in Ohsweken, on the Six Nations of the Grand River First Nations reserve, the son of Lillian and John Welton Greene, who was a paramedic and maintenance man. He lived in Hamilton during his early life. Graham was married to Hilary Blackmore, until his death, with whom he had at least one child.
He was a second cousin, once removed, of actor and musician Gary Farmer, of the Cayuga First Nations.
Graham’s paternal grandfather was named John Greene (the son of Isaac Greene, and of a woman surnamed Thompson). John was First Nations. Isaac was the son of John Greene and Hannah.
Graham’s paternal grandmother was Emma Barnes (the daughter of Paul Barnes and Charlotte Johnson). Paul was Mohawk. Charlotte was Tuscarora, and was the daughter of Zachariah Johnson and Margaret.
