Graig Nettles is an American professional baseball player. A third baseman, he played for the Minnesota Twins, the Cleveland Indians, the New York Yankees, the San Diego Padres, the Atlanta Braves, and the Montreal Expos of Major League Baseball (MLB). He is regarded as one of the best defensive third basemen of all time. He is nicknamed “Puff.”

Graig is the son of Mary and Henry Nettles. He is married to Ginger, with whom he has four children.

Graig’s paternal grandfather was Thomas Henry Nettles (the son of Henry Andrew Nettles and Margaret C. Alexander). Margaret was born in Tennessee, the daughter of Finis Ewing Alexander and Lively A. Bratton.

Graig’s paternal grandmother was Pearl Fry (the daughter of Maxwell Fry and Lyona Flanary). Maxwell was born in Oklahoma, the son of William Henry Fry and Lettie Boyd Chambers. Lyona was born in Texas, the daughter of Calvin Henry Flanary and Corintha Caroline Conover.

Graig’s maternal grandfather was Paul Harold McOsker (the son of Hugh C. McOsker and Margaret Annie B. McGowan). Hugh was born in Maine, to Irish parents, Fergus McOsker and Annie O’Neill. Margaret was born in Maine, also to Irish parents, Daniel McGowan and Mary Black.

Graig’s maternal grandmother was Florence Payne Moore (the daughter of William Payne Moore and Emma L. Frick). William was born in England. Emma was born in Brooklyn, to German parents, August Frick and Friedericka H. Schultz.
