Grant Hill is an American professional basketball player. A small forward and shooting guard, he played for the Detroit Pistons, the Orlando Magic, the Phoenix Suns, and the Los Angeles Clippers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is co-owner and Vice Chair of the Board for the Atlanta Hawks, and part-owner of Orlando City SC of Major League Soccer (MLS) and Orlando Pride of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL). He is 6′8″.
Grant is the son of Vivian Janet (McDonald) and Calvin Hill, a player of American football. He is married to Canadian singer and songwriter Tamia , with whom he has two children.
It is said that his father is African-American and his mother is biracial (African-American and European). It is not clear if this is accurate.
He is the owner of a substantial collection of African-American art, including works by Romare Bearden and Elizabeth Catlett.
