Grayson Russell is an American actor. He is known for playing Fregley in the original Diary of a Wimpy Kid trilogy. His roles also include the films Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby , Marley & Me: The Puppy Years , Season of Miracles , Mother’s Day (2016), and Greyhound ; the series R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour and Blue Ridge ; and the made-for-tv movie Space Warriors .
He is the son of Crystal and Jerry Russell, who run a Christian music ministry.
Grayson’s paternal grandfather was Jerry Claude Russell, Sr. (the son of Charles/Charlie Claude Russell and Florence Katherine Pruitt). Jerry was born in Alabama. Charles was the son of Claude Marion Russell and Annie Laura Dendy. Florence was the daughter of Clay Connell Pruitt and Lottie Hanks.
