Grey DeLisle is an American actress, voice actress, comedian, singer, and songwriter. Among her over 2,000 voice performances, she is known for playing Daphne Blake in the Scooby-Doo franchise for most of the 21st century, as well as for her roles in the animated properties Clifford the Big Red Dog , The Weekenders , The Fairly OddParents , W.I.T.C.H. , Xiaolin Showdown , The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy , Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends , Danny Phantom , Invincible , The Legend of Korra , Avatar: The Last Airbender , and The Simpsons ; and anime roles in Afro Samurai: Resurrection , When Marnie Was There , and Only Yesterday . She is also known as Grey DeLisle-Griffin and Grey Griffin.
Grey is the daughter of Joanna, a singer, and George Van Oosbree, a truck driver. She was raised partly by her Mexican-American maternal grandmother. Grey attended high school in Chula Vista, California. Her surname is from her first husband Christopher DeLisle. She has a son with her former husband, musician Murry Hammond, of alt-country band Old 97’s; and two children with her former husband Jared Griffin. Her niece is YouTuber and voice actress Anna Brisbin.
Grey’s paternal grandfather was Franciscus Van Oosbree (the son of Christiaan Johannes Van Oosbree and Johanna Wiersma). Franciscus was a Dutch emigrant, from Amsterdam.
Grey’s paternal grandmother was Frances Irene Klippness (the daughter of George John Kleppenæs/Klippness and Maria Anna Vaars). Frances was born in Minnesota. George was a Norwegian immigrant. Maria was born in Minnesota, to Dutch parents.
Grey’s maternal grandfather was Thomas Patrick Ruth (born Thomas Albert Woods, the son of Henry Campbell Woods and Joan Moran). Thomas was born in California, and took the surname of his stepfather, Dr. Roy Fredrick Ruth. Henry was the son of Thomas Albert Woods and Flora B. Campbell. Joan was the daughter of Patrick Moran, who was Irish; and of Dora Bouma, who was Dutch.
Grey’s maternal grandmother was named Eva Flores. Eva was born in Texas, to Mexican parents. She was a vocalist, who performed with salsa musician Tito Puente.
