Halle Bailey is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. She starred as mermaid Ariel in Disney’s live-action film The Little Mermaid (2023). Her roles also include the films Last Holiday , The Line , The Color Purple (2023); and You, Me & Tuscany ; and the show Grown-ish . She is a member of contemporary R&B duo Chloe x Halle, with her sister Chloe Bailey . As a solo artist, she has released the song “Angel.”
She was raised in Mableton, Georgia, the daughter of Courtney and Douglas Bailey, and moved to Los Angeles, California, in 2012 for her career. Her father is her co-manager.
