Hamilton Mourão is a Brazilian politician, and Army General. He has served as Vice President of Brazil, from 1 January, 2019 to 1 January, 2023, and as a Senator for Rio Grande do Sul, since 1 February, 2023. He has also been Southern Military Commander, from 28 April, 2014 to 26 January, 2016, Chief of the Army’s Department of Economy and Finance, from 26 January, 2016 to 9 December, 2017, and President of the Military Club, from 26 June, 2018 to 10 September, 2018.
He is the son of Wanda Coronel Martins and military officer Antônio Hamilton Mourão. Vice President Mourão is married to military officer Ana Paula Leandro de Oliveira. He was previously married to Ana Elisabeth Quintana Rossell, until her death, with whom he has two children.
