Hannah Waddingham is a British actress, voice actress, singer, and television presenter. She is known for her role as Rebecca Welton on the series Ted Lasso . Her roles also include the films Winter Ridge , Hocus Pocus 2 , The Fall Guy (2024), The Garfield Movie , Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning , Lilo & Stitch , Smurfs (2025), and The Woman in Cabin 10 , and the shows Brookside , Hollyoaks: Let Loose , My Family , Benidorm , Partners in Crime , Game of Thrones , In the Club , 12 Monkeys , Krypton , Sex Education , Tom Jones , and Krapopolis .
Her mother, Melodie Kelly, was an opera singer, as were her maternal grandparents. Her mother was from Port Erin, Isle of Man. Her Irish roots are in Cork and Dublin. She has a daughter with her former partner, Italian businessperson Gianluca Cugnetto.
Hannah’s paternal grandfather was named Harry Waddingham. Harry was born in London, England, and was one of the few survivors of the sinking of the HMS Wakeful in 1940, during WWII. He has lived to at least 108.
Her great-great-uncle, George Alfred Steene, was killed in WWI. His name is listed in the Hall of Memory of the Menin Gate Memorial to the Missing, near Ypres, West Flanders, Belgium.
One of Hannah’s maternal great-grandfathers was named Egerton Watterson.
One of Hannah’s maternal great-grandmothers was named Mona Gilling. Mona was born in Colorado, U.S., to Manx parents. Her father, J. J. Gilling, was killed in a mining accident there, and she returned to the Isle of Man.
