Heather Tom is an American actress, director, and screenwriter. Her roles include the shows The Young and the Restless , One Life to Live , All My Children , The Wedding Bells , The Bold and the Beautiful , Ugly Betty , and Lucifer ; the films Suicide Dolls and Little Dead Rotting Hood ; and the made-for-tv movies She’ll Take Romance , Deadly Whispers , Imaginary Friend , and Mommy, I Didn’t Do It . She has directed episodes of The Bold and the Beautiful , Good Trouble , and Dynasty .
She is the sister of actors Nicholle Tom and David Tom. Heather was partly raised in Seattle, Washington, and then Los Angeles, California, where her mother was a speech therapist. She is married to musician James Achor, with whom she has a son.
Heather’s paternal grandfather was Glenn Lee Tom (the son of Gillespie Francis Tom and Priscilla Straughan). Glenn was born in Vigo County, Indiana. Gillespie was the son of Thomas Brown Tom and Sarah Frances Wile, and had deep roots in the U.S. Heather’s great-grandmother Priscilla was the daughter of English emigrants, Robert Straughan, from Washington, Durham; and Anna Cook.
Heather’s paternal grandmother was Hilda Irene Gutwein (the daughter of Philip Gutwein, Jr. and Christine Stefan). Hilda was born in Francesville, Indiana, to Banat Swabian immigrants. Philip was the son of Philip Gutwein, who was from Lovćenac, North Bačka, now Serbia; and of Louisa Koch, who was from Hungary. Heather’s great-grandmother Christine was the daughter of Josef Stefan and Katharina Barbara Welker, who were from Cservenka, Bács-Bodrog, Hungary.
